The injury left Mr. Nabaheen permanently paralyzed and wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. I represented him as part of a landmark case that sought civil remedies for his life-changing injuries through the Israeli court system. Put simply, Mr. Nabaheen’s case set a chilling precedent such that no one in Gaza can seek compensation for any damages caused by Israel. The Gazan health ministry said on Thursday that more than 1,000 people were killed, injured or missing after the strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Jabaliya neighborhood of Gaza. Videos verified by The New York Times showed the aftermath of Wednesday’s strike in Jabaliya, about a half-mile from the site of Tuesday’s strike. The Israeli military said after the strike on Tuesday that it had killed Hamas militants responsible for the Oct. 7 attacks that killed more than 1,400 people in Israel. The videos verified by The Times appeared to show that Wednesday’s strike had caused about the same level of destruction.
